PLIDA EXAM

What is the purpose of the A2 PLIDA certificate?
The A2 level certificate in Italian is essential for obtaining the residence permit (long-term stay permit) and is often required for access to recognized training courses.
The A2 level of Italian is considered the "survival level" (or elementary level). According to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), a speaker at the A2 level: "Can understand isolated phrases and common expressions related to areas of immediate relevance (e.g., basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, work). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and common topics. Can describe, in simple terms, aspects of their background, immediate environment, and basic needs."

What is the purpose of the B1 PLIDA certificate?
The PLIDA B1 certificate for knowledge of the Italian language, issued by the Società Dante Alighieri, is one of the documents to be submitted for the application for Italian citizenship.
The B1 level is referred to as the "threshold level." According to the CEFR, a B1 speaker "understands the main points of familiar topics related to school, leisure activities, etc. They can handle most situations that may arise while traveling in the country where the language is spoken. They can produce simple texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. They can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, and briefly explain the reasons behind their opinions and plans."

Why should i choose PLIDA
PLIDA is one of four certificates that have been approved by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the international community. The four recognized certificates have recently gained further recognition by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the creation of an unified certification program named CLIQ.
