Our school is one of the PLIDA certification centers for the area of Rome. By joining our courses, you can take A2 PLIDA exam, equivalent to level A2 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for language skills).
What is the CEFR?
The CEFR is a system that allows to determine the level of proficiency possessed by a speaker who studies a foreign language. The CEFR is structured in six levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), each of which takes account of the four basic language skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking.
What is the A2 level?
The A2 level for italian language is the "waystage level" (or basic). According to the CEFR, an A2 speaker:
Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Why should I obtain an A2 certificate?
The A2 italian language certificate is essential to obtain a long-stay permit (carta di soggiorno) and is often required to gain access to recognized training courses.
Why should I choose PLIDA?
PLIDA is one of four certificates that have been approved by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the international community. The four recognized certificates have recently gained further recognition by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the creation of an unified certification program named CLIQ

How does the PLIDA exam work?
The PLIDA exam is structured following the directives of the CEFR, paying particular attention to the evaluation of the communicative skills possessed by the candidate.

How much does the PLIDA exam cost?
The exam fee varies depending on the level (for 2016 rates please click here
). Those who are willing to take the exam in order to apply for a long-stay permit, are entitled to enjoy the preferential fee of 20 Euros.
