Free online Italian test
Find out your proficiency level in the Italian language!
We offer everyone a free entry test to assess their level of knowledge of the Italian language. The test lasts from 30 to 90 minutes (depending on the proficiency level). It is structured following the guidelines of the PLIDA (Italian Language Project of Dante Alighieri Society), one of the four major Italian language certifications for international students.
The online Italian test has a duration that varies according to the selected level (A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1, according to the CEFR guidelines). After time has expired, the system will interrupt the test, leaving however the possibility to repeat the Italian language entry test. For each question proposed, there is only one correct alternative. Even if you are presented with several options, our online Italian language test will never offer you more than one right answer.
At the end of the test, you will receive an email with the results and a digital certificate if you have passed the Italian language test. For entry tests for levels B2 and C1, your certificate of knowledge of Italian will not be generated automatically. Still, you may request our staff to manually grade your open-ended answers upon payment of a fee of € 10. At the end of the test, you will also be offered to contact our Italian language school staff to request more information on our Italian L2 courses in Rome.
How to take our Italian language entry test
The test consists of a variable number of questions (depending on the level of the entrance test you choose) of various types:
- multiple-choice questions;
- open-ended questions;
- reordering of sentences;
- matching phrases or words to images;
- cloze.
You will have to answer all the questions in each section in order to proceed with your Italian entry test.
Now that you understand everything, you just have to get to work! If you have any doubts or questions or want to enroll in one of our Italian courses for foreigners (online or on-campus), do not hesitate to contact us.
